How to Cope When Space is Limited…..

Having consciously ‘downsized’ everything in my life ….. apartment, possessions including wardrobe items, furniture pieces and ‘stuff’ that I simply do not need…. My sneakers are stored happily together in a cane box that stacks. In the cane boxes underneath are evening bags that I don’t use as often as I need my sneakers. Recent epiphany ….. discard and learn to stack. Love to hear your clever storage solutions.

What Evening?

When you are getting your winter wardrobe in order think about your evening events and occasions… This season you can have fun with your after 5 look … just need a lot of texture and sleek lines. Add faux fur, studs, pleating and sheer over pieces. Remember to throw a piece of fur across your shoulder and happy days or nights… What is your fav winter piece?
What Do I Love…?

Jet Streams… and for me they are a symbol of winter… pale pale blue skies… OK Sydney has had an unusual start to winter… hot, dry and warm… not a lot of Jet Streams… Believe me the weather is turning and you will be able to swing out in your fur and fluff soon. I love the clear blue skies and a jet stream .. this pic is from the northern hemisphere.. I love this…
I have organised my next 6 weeks wardrobe… how are you doing? Contact me with your thoughts and actions or inactions #kjxx

What Will I Wear?

I have put together 4 inspiration boards for my Autumn Winter Wardrobe. Day to day wear, evening looks, casual sport luxe look and an accessories board. This one reminds me how to wear my sleeveless vests, to throw my camel Coat over my shoulders, to add textured hosiery, wear my black “Lashes” skirt and add texture with sequins, lace and cashmere.
On my wish list are these divine Chloe bejewelled slip ons. What are your favourite pieces to wear this winter?
More boards later……..
What Colour Will I Wear?

This season’s colour choices are as simple as 1,2,3, …. the newest look is mono grey marle … shoulder to ankle … knit is best … add a twist of winter white to really excite. Wear all winter white and all shades in between worn together work brilliantly. Navy and black together! yes you can…. The newest colour is rust….. best in an over piece, coat or a long line sleeveless vest…. and then with every shade of tan and peach in silk shirts, boots and hand bags.
Charlie met up with some very colour co ordinated friends this morning Maisey and Kaila. Notice neutral, neutral, neutral … fawn, rust, tan and black you cannot go wrong. Charlie and I have done his winter wardrobe shop adding this season a fair Isle knit in grey, black and winter white from Doggone Gorgeous. The forecast is a wet winter so we added a black with white spot raincoat also from Doggone Gorgeous … lets hope he wont need rain booties!
If you have any colour questions for this season please contact and I will be happy to discuss your best options.
Update Your Look….Trans Seasonal Dressing

It has been a record long summer Australia wide, apart from our bodies our wardrobes need a break also! I have seen a lot of ‘fashionistas’ breaking the temperature rules to get into their Autumn Winter wardrobe. As Autumn is officially here first step is to remove all your ‘high summer’ pieces from your wardrobe. Make sure all pieces are clean and in a good enough state and style to face another summer. I label these pieces “Resort/ High Summer”. When I go to the Northern Hemisphere or Asia during July or August these are the pieces I will take. Wrap cleaned sandals in shoe bags, store swimmers, sarongs and Kaftan over pieces together.
The pieces to wear now to look ‘now’ are a sleeveless long line vest with a sheer or sleeved t-shirt/knit. For the ‘Sport Luxe’ look a cotton net singlet H&M over your t-shirt and leggings a la the Biebs. Jeans, with cream or tan ankle boots or wear Court shoes with your jeans and cropped trouser and add lacy or fishnet socks with your Loafers, also an easy way to ‘break-in’ your new loafers – Myer has a great selection. Doesn’t add too much warmth but gives a hint of the new seasons look.
TIP: have your new season Style Board close by your dressing area with your new season looks…. more on mine this week.
For me my Country Road white cotton dress and my cream lace dresses with a Midas ankle strap heeled sandal have been my best and most hard working pieces last summer. Love to hear what have been your favourite summer pieces and what worked the hardest.
What is in my Bathroom Cupboard – Beauty

Listen up guys this is the best beauty TIP I will ever give you, the humble Fauldings Lanolin cream. The best and most economic beauty product ever, all the rest of the future posts will fade into insignificance. Whats his name Mr Faulding too much here for me to describe so go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F._H._Faulding_%26_Co read about Francis Harding Faulding.
Seriously all you need to do is spend $4.95 at your favourite Chemist for this ‘best ever product’ and apply once or twice weekly to the dry areas on your face. I favour under the eyes, applied with the ring fingers only……. because they have the softest ‘touch’, around the mouth and my neck. Basically where the dry and ‘lined’ areas are. Suggestion apply on a hair washing day, go for a walk or wait 10 minutes while doing your physio exercises and shower off and act as normal. ie After showering this product off apply day moisturiser pre make-up, this weekly treatment provides an emollient and moisturized skin, ready for day cream and the day’s make-up.
As they say the proof is in the pudding, this humble by product from our sheep works, one of my closest and dearest friends does this religiously and at 75 (!) her skin is ‘dewey’ moist in appearance and wrinkle free also one of my ‘glamorous cousins’ doesn’t leave home without it…. I know because I vet their beauty bags.
TIP: I use this every night as an emollient lip balm… PS. Charlie enjoys this as a ‘yummy lickable’ nose moisturiser.
Styling it up at Thistle Hill Polkobin

Fabulous weekend at Thistle Hill Guest House Pokolbin for Anthony and Tom, they wanted a simple but lush atmosphere. Buckets of white roses and oak leaves adorned their celebration. Congratulations … as featured in Cosmopolitan Bride issue 46 out today.
TIP: Go simple and ample have a lot of one thing. The guys added their Japonais theme with their hand made origami cranes which worked a treat as I could move them around for each event with the rose bouquets.
